CairoApply to adopt me!
Cairo came to us when his owners found themselves without a stable living environment, and they wanted to be sure that Cairo was cared for. Note that due to Cairo's medical conditions, we consider him to be a hospice adoption.
Cairo is a 13+ year old Miniature Pinscher weighing a whole 10 lbs. This sweet boy has nothing but love in his eyes for everyone he meets.
Cairo loves to be held, loves to cuddle, and loves to go for walks, but FYI - you may end up carrying him back. :)
He does well with other dogs, but hasn’t met a cat yet. Not sure a cat would be an issue, though, as Cairo is sight impaired with only about 5% of vision. He does “track” you well enough to know when you have treats, or are heading his way for a cuddle.
P.S. He comes with an extensive wardrobe of various doggie jackets and sweaters and pjs!
Shortly after arriving at FLPS, Cairo's initial vet visit revealed that he is diabetic and also has Valley Fever. After much discussion with our vet, we heart-wrenchingly made the decision to not move forward with any treatment.
Cairo is a happy boy, and he lives each day to the fullest (and lots of naps), so we’d like to keep him on the same path for as long as he has.
