Foster Coordinator needed

Position Reports to: Director of Animal Status and Welfare

Position Summary: The Foster Coordinator is responsible for promoting the fostering of our senior pets within the foster program.

Time periods when assistance is needed

  • Various times throughout the month to answer email, set up meet and greets, transport animals for meet and greets, and other duties as needed.
  • Attendance at monthly animal status committee meeting the fourth Wednesday of every month

Responsibilities

  • Monitors foster@foreverlovedpets.org email box and responds to foster inquires
  • Onboarding new foster parents and providing them with all necessary materials to become part of our foster program
  • Participate in meet and greets with animals as needed or facilitate another volunteer/ foster to conduct the meet and greet
  • Perform home check or facilitate another volunteer/foster to conduct the home check
  • Coordinating with the Animal Status Team to post pleas and match dogs with appropriate fosters and facilitating their move into foster care
  • Enter foster home information in animal database at rescuegroups.org
  • Follow-up with a phone call or email to foster to ensure a good match

Qualifications

  • Must be an adult FLPS volunteer
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be comfortable interacting with volunteers/fosters
  • Must have a computer
  • Complete volunteer orientation and a mentoring session

Physical demands

  • Frequent sitting and typing on a computer
  • Standing or sitting when conducting meet and greets
