Axel

Axel was abandoned on the streets of Mexico, but he was saved from harm by the amazing rescuers doing great work in Hermosillo.

Meet Axel! You’ve never met a more exuberant, fun-loving fellow. Axel adores attention from his people and will quickly settle into his new home. He’s doing so well with his foster; Axel’s learning lots of new things that will help him become the best dog he can be.

Axel is an 8-year-old, 68 lb Boxer mix. He sits on command, knows he can’t be underfoot while his fosters are cooking dinner, and is learning he has to be patient when it’s time for his meal.

Axel will thrive with a confident but patient owner who’s committed to continuing to teach Axel boundaries with consistent routine. He is reliably housetrained and can be left alone with no destructive behavior.

Lots of exercise and adventures in a loving and secure home will set up Axel for the success we know he is capable of. We’re evaluating how he might like to live with other dogs in your home. We’ll require a meet and greet with your pets.

Axel deserves to live the good life from this point. Since being abandoned on the streets, he carries some emotional scars from this part of his past. These manifest as a tendency to become possessive of the people he loves. His fosters are working to teach Axel to have more confidence.
