Farmer's Market Inside Scoop

Farmer's Market Inside Scoop

We are looking forward to our upcoming Local Eats & Doggie Treats Farmers Market for so many reasons! We are excited to host an in-person event where we can reconnect with familiar faces and make some new connections, too. We also are happy to support our local business community and enjoy all they have to offer. Last but definitely not least, we are so pleased to spread the word about our mission to help senior dogs.

As the event fast approaches, we thought we’d highlight a few of the more than 40 vendors that will be present. We can’t feature them all but here’s a closer look at some of the awesome businesses you can help support:

Merry Poppins

Culinary experts often say you taste with your eyes. Merry Poppins must know this secret because their cake pops look absolutely amazing! They specialize in cake pops of all shapes as well as flavors.

For those who haven’t yet had the pleasure, a cake pop is crumbled cake mixed with frosting that is dipped into a chocolate candy coating and served on a stick.

They have absolutely amazing creations that taste delicious and look even better in all sorts of mind-boggling shapes. We can’t wait to see and taste (is that redundant?) what they bring!

Pawfessional Services

Make sure to check out the all-natural dog treats of Pawfessional Services. They are a local pet-sitting service—in your home or theirs— that also sells all-natural pet treats.

Owners Cindy and Brent Reel are dog lovers and this business is truly a labor of love. They own two dogs and have been heavily involved with dog rescue and foster for over twenty years.

Cindy, a professional baker and chef for over 35 years, prepares the treats from scratch, with only fresh fruits, vegetables and meats, and no additives or preservatives. She even makes the applesauce and peanut butter in-house as well. She uses brown rice flour so the treats are gluten and wheat free.

They offer different treats each month, with fun seasonal and holiday inspired flavors. This month’s offering is Mama Dee’s Venison Chips. No doubt our dogs will enjoy trying these treats!

Zivel Natural Creations

After you and your dog have gotten some treats, wander over to Zivel Natural Creations, which offers treats for your home. Based in Cave Creek, Zivel features a wide variety of gorgeous, one-of-a-kind woodworking products, from practical—cutting and charcuterie boards—to art—like an Acacia wood cutting naturally shaped like a heart.

These creative showpieces would make great, thoughtful gifts and are offered at a variety of price points. Their olive oil and wine bottles are stunning. We are looking forward to seeing what they bring along!

Project Roots

What is a farmers market event without some fresh produce? Project Root’s produce is extra special because it comes from a desire to make a difference. Project Roots is a new nonprofit in the valley with a focus on educating the community about growing their own food through various educational programs.

They operate two community gardens in the valley and offer their locally-grown produce at local farmers markets. They also donate their food to the homeless and food insecure and operate a mobile soup kitchen.

Some slightly more unusual items Project Roots sells are derived from the moringa tree, including moringa seeds, powder and juice. Apparently items from the moringa tree may offer all sorts of benefits, including balancing blood sugar levels and hormones, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure and enhancing your skin. Wow.

We are looking forward to checking out all of their beautiful produce and learning more about this wonderful local organization!

Waffle Love

Whether on your way in or out of the farmers market, you’ll want to stop by the Waffle Love food truck. It has quite the following and for very good reason. As the name suggests, Waffle Love offers up waffles with all sorts of delicious toppings that you are sure to love.

There are sweet topping options such as lemon curd, raspberries or Nutella. Meanwhile a savory option is a must-try as well—a croissant waffle with cheese and a side of tomato bisque. Mmmm. Which one (or more!) will you try?

These are just a few of the businesses who will be at our Local Eats & Doggie Treats Farmers Market on July 24, 2021 from 8 a.m. to noon at Signature Flight Support, 15290 N. 78th Way, Scottsdale 85260. Check out the full list of vendors here. We look forward to seeing you there!
