Duke

Hello, my name is Duke and I am as regal as my name sounds.  I am 11 years old, I weigh 32 lbs, and I am a Manchester Terrier/Kelpie mix.  I came into the wonderful care of Forever Loved after my owner of 6 years was unable financially to care for me.  I lived with kids and I did very well with them.  When I came in, I was in a lot of pain - a lot, because my ears were infected and my mouth was a hot mess! Even I couldn’t stand the smell of my breath!  Now that I’ve had a dental and a full exam, I feel so much better.  The vet had to pull 25 teeth, which were in horrendous condition, and both my ears got a thorough cleaning and medication.  So glad that is behind me now!  I do have low thyroid, so I will need to be kept on medication for that for the rest of my life, but it is not at all cost prohibitive.  The kind folks here at Forever Loved can tell you all about that.  The rest of my bloodwork and my joints are in great shape.

I am leash trained, I ride nicely in the car, and I am a gentle guy.  I am not needy at all, and I have impeccable house manners.  I am currently rooming with 2 other dogs and I enjoy playtime out in the yard.  Matter of fact, I’d be just fine living in an apartment with you.  Now that you know about me, won’t you apply to meet me?  I really am a good dog that will be very easy to have around!
