Ladybug

Hi there! I’m Ladybug. I’m an 8 pound, 9-year-old sweet Chihuahua mix who thrives on love, food, sunshine, and cuddles!

My story is not uncommon, sadly. I was a stray, roaming the streets when I was nabbed by Animal Control.  While in the county shelter, I was terrified, so my chances at getting adopted were slim.  Luckily, Forever Loved stepped in and looked beyond my terrified little self and saw potential in me.  I now have a chance at a happy ever after.

Once in foster, I proved to blossom quickly because I finally felt safe and loved.  I recently got a clean bill of health after some blood work, mammary mass removals, spay, and a dental!

With new folks, I might seem a bit reserved, but give me a little time, and I’ll become your most loyal friend and companion. Let me tell you what makes me truly special: Once I know I’m safe, I welcome all the love you can give me, and will certainly return the gesture.  My happiness revolves around four simple things: food, roaming the yard, daily walks, and snuggling up next to my human.  I am reliably house trained and I’m doggy door trained! I do have some mild separation anxiety, so I might bark when my people leave. Having someone home most of the time is recommended.  I catch on fast! I love basking in the sun, exploring the yard, and going for walks. Car rides? Count me in.  Although I don’t need a playmate, I get along just fine with friendly dogs and cats. I walk like a pro but need a secure harness—I can get jumpy around loud noises. A peaceful environment suits me best so let’s be honest - small kids will be too much for me.  My loyalty and affection will enrich your life!  My foster mom says that I am a Belly Rub  Expert.  Scratch that sweet spot, and I’ll be in doggy heaven!
