History

Walter came to us from the county animal control e-list.

Personality

Amazing little Walter is a resilient survivor.  He had a severely broken leg from old and more recent fractures, limited vision, and frankly, most people had written off his chances to recover.

We got a look at him and said YES! We’ll take him! After a thorough exam with our vet, we moved forward with amputation of his shattered leg. Walter handled the complicated surgery like a champ, and has been recovering in a loving foster home.

They report he is assimilating well into the resident pack, is a pro at avoiding his meds in pill pockets, and loves to snuggle in his bed.

His foster family is just beginning to see his true personality as he’s spent his time recovering from his injuries, but we feel confident he’s ready to find his forever home.

We’re committed to helping Walter become a beloved member of a new family; people that recognize and celebrate his resilience, a family that will provide snuggly dog beds and have patience to help him learn his new surroundings, including helping him brush up on his housetraining skills.

In return, we can guarantee Walter will provide a lifetime of love and the knowledge that you’ve truly saved a life.

Walter is an 11-year-old, 15 pound Schipperke mix.
